Colfax Rural Lutheran Parish

More than 50 people came out and had a great meal at North Running Valley yesterday for the Foods Resource Bank corn & pork feed. Just about $700 was raised and everyone had a great meal.

A big “Thank You!” goes out to the ladies of the parish for the desserts, salads and drinks. And another one to the Grohn family for providing the sweet corn.

So far since yesterday evening, there’s been just about an inch and a half of rain!

Nice easy, soaking rain.

Perfect for growing newly spouted corn fields.

There are now 20.6 acres of corn planted!

Hi Everyone!

We’re all waiting for the weather to warm up enough to begin field work. Hopefully we’ve seen the last of the snow. So far it’s been a very damp/wet and cold spring.

Last year we were doing field work on April 3 – this year we still had several feet of snow on the ground.

Last year the corn was planted on April 30 – this year, we might have the fields ready.

Speaking of fields, there will be 19 acres all total this year for FRB. 18 acres of corn and 1 acre of soybeans.
